How to Make Your WordPress Blog Completely Private
Do you want to make your Blogger blog completely private? When and Who Needs a Private Blog?

Making a Blogger Blog Completely Private

By default Blogger blog visibility set as a Public but if you want to set your blog as Private then follow a simple steps given below very carefully-

Simply Go to Your Blogger Dashboard and navigate to setting --) Basics --) Permissions - [Blog Readers].
This option would help you in limit public users to accessing your website content without your permissions, but blog admins and authors can still access it only when they log into their Google account.

Blogger provide three different option to set your blog visibility-

  1. Public
  2. Private - Only blog Authors
  3. Private -  Only Specific Readers

Edit Blog Readers option and then show all option of admin roles to restrict the blog visibility.

Public - Blog Visibility Public (Access all people your blog Url)

If you're create a blog on blogger plateform , First you see that option set as Public.  That's means everyone access your blog url and their contents. Public includes Human visitors, Robots, Crawlers and etc. This option is recommended for those who want keep their website/blog to open access for public users.


Private - Only blog Authors

If you're choosing a second option - "Only blog authors" , Your website url restricted for public users by blogger permission setting but not for blog admin and author. Blog admin and author access to blog url and see all blog contents by using associated blogger account.



Private - Only these readers

Third Option - "Only these readers" that's mean only specific readers read your blog. if you select  this option then only those readers read your blog who added by blog admin as a blog readers. However, those readers have to login into their Google account before they can access the site. You have to send invitations to the readers through Emails by click on +Add readers link this will open text area. In this text area, enter email address of those who you would like to give access to your blog, see below image to get a clear idea.

Note - You can also add readers by choose from Contacts.


Keep in mind; you can only add more than 100 readers in one Private Blog.

For Public Users

If any public user access your blog url then Permission Denied by blog and show the message for users.


If anybody want to read your blog then contact to the blog author and request an invitation.

what will happen , if you enable a google plus comment System

If you had already add google comment system in you blogger blog so you can't use these features because your blog already set for public user by blog admin.If you want add this features in blogger blog so disable google plus comment system in your blog.
